Too much information
Hiya. I’m Lisa Boucher. I live in America’s spleenland, right in the Middle of Nowhere. The Middle of Nowhere is about ten minutes away from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, USA (AKA Chambana).
I was born under the sun sign Scorpio, in the year of the Snake. This means that (1) I was usually the youngest in my class and (2) I am currently either six, eighteen, thirty, forty-two, fifty-four, sixty-six, seventy-eight, ninety, or one hundred and two years of age. Possibly older.
I’m on a secret mission. No, I can’t tell you about it, because it’s secret.
I play fiddle and sing, although I no longer make my living as a musician. The domain name of this site is a vestige of its inception as a record label, FPM Records, which I created in 2001 in order to release my own CD. (I’m still not telling what “FPM” denotes.)
I still host an Irish traditional music session once a month at a bar in downtown Champaign, and I maintain an Irish music portion of my site. Other than hosting the sesh, hitting the occasional other sesh, and doing a bit of collaboration on recordings, I’m pretty quiet these days. (That doesn’t mean I don’t have any projects simmering away.)
I have been known to put together local events; Bloomsday, Burns Night, and Jig for the Big Easy spring to mind.
To pay the bills, I edit books. I also helped to edit the electronic version of a famous anthology of Irish bardic verse, The Metrical Dindshenchas, in both English and the original Old Irish. And I edited The Veteran (the newspaper of Vietnam Veterans Against the War) for many years, but I don’t do that anymore. I get most of my freelance projects through Publication Services, but I welcome direct inquiries.
If too much information about me wasn’t enough for you, there’s also far too much information.
