ATTENTION, CHAMBANA NATIONALISTS

Posted on Friday 5 October 2007

Local letter to the editor:

There is a saying that dissent is the greatest form of patriotism.

That has to be the greatest piece of propaganda ever propagated in the media. This is responsible for the divide, the wedge that has weakened the ability for the government in this country to function efficiently.

The left undermines this administration incessantly.

The anti-war, anti-government propaganda machine (AWAG) responsible for this comprises a myriad of players, all working to undermine this country. Some are focused on the transition of this great republic, based on God-given rights, to come under the oversight of the United Nations. The U.N.’s goal is to advance socialism, all the while removing God from the equation (America is the rogue nation). Many politicians are motivated by the politics of re-election, and many in the media are motivated by ratings.

This newspaper’s readers are part of the local AWAG and AWARE (anti-war, anti-racism effort). Its members as well as others bombard the paper with letters in their attempt to weaken this country’s resolve and embolden its enemies.

Division is the greatest enemy. It is time to stand up for our country and against those who support this constant barrage.

This is our battleground, and it’s everyone’s responsibility. Stand up and be a patriot, the kind who supports the country’s president. Be the kind of person who knows that surrender is not an option because the stakes are too high. There will be a “Pro-American Rally” and a “Rally for Victory” at North Prospect Avenue and I-74 in Champaign each Saturday in October from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

So just out of curiosity, how are these rallies going?

I actually have no idea; I tend to avoid the Shopping Hell that is North Prospect. But they were first organised in response to antiwar rallies along the same street, and I imagine they’re about the same as ever: the owner of the hobby shop, some of his mentally challenged buddies, and whatever dross they managed to lure with the promise of FREE HOT DOGS FER PATRIOTS. You know, the usual.
