A Central Illinois Irish music update for the month of August is here. If you’re in Chambana and have nothing better to do this evening, I’m hosting the trad session at Mike & Molly’s starting at fiveish. My hands are really sore, and they’re about to be more so, but I think I can manage the requisite three hours of fiddle. And I will toast the anonymous genius who came up with the idea of whiskey.
Speaking of toasts and genius: RIP, Tommy Makem. I never met you, but I heard you sing at a festival once, and you were great. And RIP, Johnny Frigo. We traded fiddles one time, and mine is the better for your having played it.
