Suicide Food is any depiction of animals that act as though they wish to be consumed. Suicide Food actively participates in or celebrates its own demise. Suicide Food identifies with the oppressor.
There’s a barbecue chain here whose advertising features a delighted pig amid flames. We call it the Hell Pig. Its real name, which it took me a couple minutes to recall, is Famous Dave’s. Oh, hey, Suicide Food only gave it two nooses (”appalling”). The image above, however, earned five nooses. “His evil smile says it all: If reducing himself to lurid, bloody slices while you watch is the only way he can cause you pain, that’s a small price.”
