‘CAUSE YOU NEED TO HEAR MY DULCET TONES

Posted on Saturday 14 April 2007

‘Specially tempered with loads of tobacco and the near-complete absence of sleep for days. And zero fiddle; I deliberately left it home that day, ha ha.

Spin Cycle, “Consider Me Gone” (Gary Strater benefit, 2004)

Song by Sting. (Come and get me.) Recorded by Feldman (bless his heart) and extracted from a longer recording by Scruggs (bless his spleen).

I never thought anyone could make Sting listenable, never mind enjoyable, but that’s a sweet song and you carry it well — baccy, exhaustion and all.

Boy, my memory’s fuzzy from that day/week/year.

And! Oh, my gosh … advancenet must have actually restored from some backup they never took, ’cause I’ve not had an active account there in years, and my old homepage was gone long ago. But it’s there now and I can’t change a thing … hmmm, wonder if they restored the password file, too.
