1926: H. L. Mencken is arrested in front of a crowd in Boston for selling a banned issue of the American Mercury

1930: Mahatma Gandhi picks up a tiny lump of salt on a coast in India, thereby breaking British law

1976: The April 5 Movement culminates in the Tiananmen Incident in Beijing

1994: Kurt Cobain ends his life rather spectacularly but is not found until a couple days later, probably smelling like something other than teen spirit
