1931: William Shatner is born; much later, his strange cover of “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” is made into an even stranger video

1972: The U.S. Senate passes the Equal Rights Amendment, which still has not been ratified by enough states to become part of the constitution

1978: Karl Wallenda, founder of the Flying Wallendas, falls to his death while walking a cable strung between two hotels in San Juan, Puerto Rico
