I’m working on month eight of this deployment, and I’ve been on plenty of patrols, but getting shot at is a relatively new experience for me. Since this is an experience most of you will never have (and I’m thankful for that), I’ll do my best to describe the sights, sounds, and feelings of a gunfight for you.
Getting Shot At (B.C., in the Sandbox)
“Hawkish behavior is the realm of people who haven’t done this before.”
In all seriousness, this makes me want to cry.
I don’t think he was joking around either.
While our elected (and not really elected) representatives debate (and ignore any debate) about whether we should send in more troops, let’s try to keep in mind that there are people out there with bullets whizzing past their heads, right the fuck now. Who are the people trying to get us to believe that sending more troops will do anything but put more of our soldiers into that situation? Listen carefully to what they say, and look carefully at who they are.
Anyone who votes to continue funding this travesty doesn’t deserve my respect. Or my vote.
