… somebody’s gotta do it.

It’s a dangerous situation. How do we know it’s dangerous? People could DIE. How do we know that? We kill people. But hold on a second, there. We can’t kill the star. Or any of the other main characters. What do we do now? All eyes turn to you. It’s time to work some of that magic you do so well. You are the Redshirt.

Redshirts, named after the crimson-uniformed security officers from the original Star Trek, are the expendable extras you see in shows that get killed off to show the viewer that the situation is dire. The main characters have to survive to continue the series, of course, so we know they’re going to pull through. It just makes you roll your eyes a bit when you see a band of three principal characters and a fourth unknown nobody you’ve never seen before all venturing into unknown danger. What do you think is going to happen?

As the Redshirt, you know that sometimes the old ways are the best ways. You play a vital role in establishing mood and atmosphere, and although your efforts may cause others some confusion, they are understanding and appreciative of your actions, knowing it’s all in good fun.

Aaargh! I took about 15 minutes to take this quiz and fill out the required information, etc etc. THEN I get the message they are having technical difficulties, try back later. So I have no idea how I scored. No, I’m not going through that all again, just to find out whether the difficulties have been resolved!
