CRANKY OLD LOCAL OPINION SPOTLIGHT

Posted on Friday 10 November 2006

From the News-Gazette letters to the editor:

About 1 p.m. on election day, my wife and I entered Champaign 2 Precinct to vote.

While having our registration checked, we were met with a disgusting and reprehensible sight.

An election judge was sitting at the table eating her lunch from what appeared to be fast-food plastic container. It was so disgusting that I called Champaign County Clerk Mark Shelden’s office to complain.

Oh, the horror. (I was an election judge in Chicago once, and yeah, we all ate right there. What were we supposed to to, take off for a three-martini lunch somewhere?)
