This comment thread on IlliniPundit is pretty entertaining. My fave so far: “What bothers me more than anything (if this is really over) - ‘they’ won.”
I uncharacteristically watched a teensy bit of local TV news recently, in which the talking heads were bemoaning the possible “Chief’s last dance.” And they showed some of the er … majestic … dancing. (Here’s video.) I had forgotten how utterly freakin’ ridiculous it was, and I thought to myself, Why would anyone care if this went away? Now I know why: it’s because “they” “win” if the Chief goes away. Yeeesh. (Extra E added for emphasis).
